Strategic and Operational Planning
We had a great day in The Canal Court Hotel celebrating the U3A in UK 25 years and our own 10 years anniversary. We also used the day to have some stategic planning for the next 5 years. Following on from the day of Strategic Planning in September and the day in the Canal Court Hotel a follow up morning of Operational Planning took place on the 20th February 2008. A number of key areas were looked at and ideas were examined on how to implement them. It is hoped to bring an Operational Plan to the Executive Committee shortly so we will have a definitive action plan to follow for the next few years. The Executive Committee were delighted with the enthusiasm and commitment of those members who participated in the exercise and are grateful to Muredach Dynan, one of our members, for his expertise in this area. A further meeting in May has now produced an Action Plan which will be approved at next executive meeting. See Pictures

Lunch with Mayor
Our committee was delighted to repond to an invitation from the Mayor of Newry and Mourne, Councillor Colman Burns, to join him and other Council officials for lunch in the Council Chamber. We had an enjoyable and useful time with an opportunity to raise matters of concern and to get an update on the progress of the proposal for a purpose built multi purpose cross community centere where we might be one users.

Memorial Service
