Proposal for Reviving the U3A Cycling Group

  1. The proposal is to focus (initially at least) on members who have some cycling experience but who would welcome the company and support of other members to enjoy cycling on a regular basis

  2. All the cycling activity will take place on the canal towpath. At the start of the term members will meet for one classroom based session for a discussion on safety, cycling technique, and health issues

  3. The maximum size of the group should be 12 (delighted if we enrolled half that number!). Members should have use of a bike in safe and serviceable condition and be able to transport it to the towpath. Cycling helmets will be compulsory

  4. Once a core group is established we could consider the use of the cycles available from the Trust at the WIN estate to accommodate members who do not have their own bike
