Steps to Better Health
Mondays 3pm to 4.30pm in Room 203 starting 12th Sept. 2016
'Steps to Health' is a six week programme which aims to improve our health through the easiest and simplest of all activities, walking! Participants will have the use of a pedometer, supplied by the NI Public Health Agency, which they will use to record the number of steps walked in a typical week. Each person will then be encouraged to set a personal goal for gradually increasing the number of steps walked over the duration of the course, and to develop strategies for maintaining the level of activity afterwards. The course will examine how increased activity can reduce the risk of conditions such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease and how it can improve our quality of life by helping us to sleep well, maintain a healthy weight and manage stress.
